ALL COMPETITORS AND TEAMS USING MUSIC:
Although this is common knowledge at this point, all social media, streaming services, and television broadcasts will not allow any performances with music that is not pre-licensed from Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) and/or the American Society for Composers,
Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP).

The US Open has it’s own YouTube Channel and all performances must be licensed to be stored for viewing on the channel. In addition, Sport Martial Arts will be live-streaming the eliminations from nearly all rings, and any non-licensed music in a performance will cause that performance to be blacked out.

The ISKA World Championships Finals and selected NASKA US Open Grand Championships will be broadcast live on ESPN at various times Saturday afternoon and evening, and live by satellite to 52 countries though FightSports Global. They will also be rebroadcast on ESPN in “best of” shows for the following month and up to one year exclusively on ESPN. These performances must have music chosen from the huge pre-licensed Killer Tracks library used by ESPN, which has already licensed these songs and has worldwide pre-approval through ESPN and Disney, ESPN’s owner.

Since licensing individual songs is very expensive and often cumbersome to document for full usage, we recommend ALL those using music in their performances, whether for ESPN or not, choose music from the Killer Tracks library. The library can be found here: https://www.killertracks.com

If you are a Class A or AA Black Belt or are on a Team and are competing in divisions scheduled for inclusion on ESPN and FightSports, your choice of music from Killer Tracks must be approved by Nick Schneider, who is in charge of televised music clearance at the US Open and The World Championships. Nick can be reached at: nickschneiderpks@gmail.com. There is a $25 fee for one song, or $50 for two or more. Please remember Nick MUST approve your music before you can perform for the television cameras. He will also assist in you choosing music if you wish. Even for breaking and even if just highlights of the division are shown, the music must still be Killer Tracks and approved by Nick.

Again, the Killer Tracks library can be found at https://www.killertracks.com
The library is continuously updated and there is a lot of time before the event to find something that will work for you and your performance. Remember, songs can be looped, speeded up, or blended with another song. But they cannot be "remixed".

Any questions please contact Nick Schneider at the above email address. See you in a few months at The US Open ISKA World Martial Arts Championships!

We look forward to seeing you at the 2019 event!
